  • Bank of Montreal - Barton and James Street


    Advanced Concrete Solutions was contacted to assess the wall condition. Due to the structural integrity of the wall, Advanced Concrete Solutions consulted with a structural engineering firm who designed a repair sequence.

  • Taywood Court Pumping Station Wet Well Structural Upgrades


    The Taywood Court Pumping Station consists of a wet well with two submersible pumps and a small building equipped with a diesel standby generator and electrical control panel. The building's foundation and foundation pads for the standby generator and electrical panel had experienced some differential settlement.

  • Mount Forest Water Reservoir Crack Injection And Joint Restoration


    Regional Municipality of Halton found some cracking in the concrete walls and ceiling. During a scheduled inspection of the underground Mount Forest water reservoir in Burlington, the Regional Municipality of Halton found some cracking in the concrete walls and ceiling. Evidence of possible ground water intrusion was also noticed. In order to avoid potential contamination of the potable water in the two million gallon reservoir, the region decided to have the cracks repaired immediately.

  • Lakeview Wastewater Treatment Plant Fireproofing Removal


    The Region of Peel recently undertook a major retrofit of the Incineration Building at the Lakeview Wastewater Treatment Plant. It was found that the existing fireproofing did not meet modern fire codes and would need to be replaced.

  • Delta Secondary School Boiler Room Floor Repairs


    Built in the early 1900's, Delta Secondary School is Hamilton's oldest high school. Building maintenance personnel at the school were experiencing some problems in the boiler room. Water was leaking from the boilers into cracks and joints in the concrete floor and making it's way into the boys' gymnasium through the shared wall. This opened up the opportunity for further damage in the gymnasium and posed a potential safety hazard to students.

  • Halton Landfill Site Methane Collection System Manhole Grouting


    Conestoga Rovers & Associates had recently installed six new manholes as part of the Methane Collection System at the Halton Landfill Site. After installation it was found that the precast concrete manholes were experiencing water infiltration, up to 10 gallons per minute, around pipe penetrations and precast joints. This situation needed to be corrected prior to putting the manholes into service.

  • Burlington Water Purification Plant Polyurethane Injection


    During a recent inspection of the sand filtration cells of the Burlington Water Filtration Plant, the Regional Municipality of Halton found evidence of leakage in an expansion joint between a spillway carrying untreated water and one of the filter cells. In order to prevent potential contamination of the filtered water, the region decided to repair the defective joint.

  • AIC Mutual Funds Hangar Floor Coating


    AIC Mutual Funds constructed a new hangar facility to house company-owned aircraft. To protect the concrete floor surfaces from abrasion and chemical attack, a polymer floor coating was specified in the main hangar areas and mechanical rooms.
